  2. Jesus wasn’t focused on his personal reward or punishment but on the good of the world.

    To me, that example is more profound than all the words that have been written and spoken about him, many of which have tried to make Christianity into a reward/punishment system where the focus is ourselves. Traditionally that took the form of trying to get into heaven and avoid hell, but nowadays it includes the goods of this world in approaches like “prosperity theology” – way, way off the mark and out of the way, off the path, imo…
