The tree of life

“Why can we have the tree of life? Because Jesus Christ climbed the cross, the tree of death. And because Jesus climbed the tree of death you can have the tree of life.”

  1. Keller has changed my life; here is a great paraphrase of one of his sermons:

Keller free sermon under topic Who is God – Beholding the Love of God http://sermons2.redeemer.com/

If you are a Christian you have a spirit of wonder that permeates your life- How unreal! Me a Christian? Incredible! Miraculous! Unbelievable! A Joke!

To the degree you behold the free grace of God, to the degree you meditate on it and you let it become a holy fire in your heart, to the degree that you experience the love of God, When bad things happen, you can say my father must have a purpose here because he loves me! And besides that, he doesn’t owe me a good life. I could have a far worse life than I’ve got! You can handle anything!
When good things come, you will say “behold” what a miracle. You will get up in the morning and say, “I’m a Christian; who would have thought it?”
You have a spirit of wonder. If loose spirit of wonder then you are slipping back into moralism!

To a real Christian everything that comes to him is a gift. He sees himself in God’s debt.
To a religious person good things from God are expected if he obeys. He sees God in his debt.

    Praise God!
