He surrendered himself

Had the Son of God been forced into this world — driven to His death on the cross — our amazement at His love would not have been nearly as grand. But when we become acquainted with His willingness, that He voluntarily surrendered Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice, we are overwhelmed: amazed at the intensity and infinite capacity of such love.
