Jesus isn’t ashamed of us
Jesus shares in human ‘flesh and blood’ so that he might deliver those who ‘through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery (Heb. 2:14–15). Jesus took on everything–from blushing skin to sweating pores to firing adrenal glands to moving bowels–all because he ‘had to be made like his brothers in every respect’ (Heb. 2:17). And, speaking of us, our Lord Jesus, the only One with the natural-born right to cry, ‘Abba,’ ‘is not ashamed to call them brothers’ (Heb. 2:11).
