The guarantee of ultimate victory

Christ is the power of God. Omnipotence dwells in him who once was slain, but now ever liveth, and he is able to save unto the uttermost them that come unto God by him.

Here is our comfort under all the assaults with which the Christian faith is threatened, and under all the disappointments which the Christian church has hitherto undergone; Emmanuel, God with us, is still our strength.

We are persuaded that the ultimate victory of the cross is absolutely certain, for ‘the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.’
