Only through the self-sacrificing agape love of God the Father and Jesus the Son for us, while we were yet sinners, was it possible for God the Father to crush and smite His Son in our place. That same love allowed Jesus the Son to submit to His Father's will, which meant not only the physical suffering and shame, but, far worse, the separation from His Father while He bore all our sins.
Thanks for the inspiring post.

struggling is all we see & expect in this world.
that kind of labor is man's. it never leads to rest.

God's labor is more of a "birthing process" type labor.
"let us labor therefore to enter into..."(the opposite of human birth-process, where we labor to GET OUT.)

since God already gives us rest from labor,("come un2 Me all ye that labor & r heavy laden & I will give u rest")--
the labor we are talking about now is different.(labor 2 'enter in2 His Rest').
we are given rest, then told to labor --2 enter into His Rest.

rest is indeed a gift, but fully comprehending & "entering into" it,is the process of labor. the process of painful times we wish would end. the process that is so tiring, & that some may die in.

i'm reminded of how someone said that "pain is only weakness LEAVING".
THAT'S COOL...
for me i have 2 'un-learn' so much of what i believed, 2 enter the rest of God.
i have also been alienated from friends & family who think i have 'too much Jesus'. it's painful 2 be alone, painful 2 wait, painful 2 press on.

i get confused when i hear about victory & the 'abundant Christian life', because
those things have been very slow in coming to me. yet i'm not lacking.
rest is a state of mind, for me. one of being able to envision myself cared for.
where my mind sees God's Promises instead of man's evil.

sorry i went on so long. blessings 2 my brethren in the Lord Jesus Christ:)Amen.
